EXCLUSIVE AND EXCITING TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR VAIL RESORTS SKI AND RIDE SCHOOLS FOR THE 2024/2025 SUMMER SEASON!

We are excited to announce and share this summer’s offering of virtual training clinics for Ski and Snowboard School instructors.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Dates: 20 Weeks from June 2 – Oct 29

Total Clinics: 80 Core Curriculum + 6 “Wild Card” Clinics

Duration & Time: 90-Minutes from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM MST/ 5:30-6:30pm PST, Mondays - Thursdays

Disciplines: Alpine, Snowboard, Children’s, Adaptive, Multi-Disciplines Tech Talks

CURRICULUM

Each month will focus on one fundamental from the Learning Connection Model or a CAP Model Concept. Each week sequentially moves through one step in an experiential learning cycle of introduction, clarification (comprehension), practice, and application.

Week 1: Master Talk - The monthly topic is presented by a clinician in a “master class” style and format. This session is recorded in ZOOM, edited, and made accessible for staff who weren’t able to attend.
Week 2: Clarification - Clinician briefly reviews previous week, clarifies key points from the topic, solicits and answers audience questions, and dives deeper into concepts. This session is a broad question and answer session that may include exploration and live demonstrations of application.
Week 3: Practice - Participants and clinicians work together to identify and discuss the topic. Participants split into breakout groups for guided practice, reflection, and focused discussion.
Week 4: Application - Participants present their understanding of the topic. May include Movement Analysis, Technical Analysis, and/or demonstration of teaching models/concepts. Participants may be grouped by certification level (Cert 2, Cert 3, Trainers). Clinicians provide feedback on participant presentations and performance.
Week 5: Wild Card - There are six days during the summer period that land on the calendar as 5th weekdays of the month. These days will be staffed with advanced educators in leadership positions to lead multi-discipline tech talk style clinics similar to the “National Team Clinic Series” offered during FY25 winter.
