Our private lessons are for all ages, kids and adults. People can book for one person or for a group up to 5 people.
Whistler Adaptive Lessons
The Whistler Adaptive Ski and Ride Program works in partnership with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP), a local nonprofit charitable organization.
This winter program caters to a full spectrum of skiers and snowboarders from beginner through advanced. Our trained and certified instructors, guides and assistants will help those with both physical and cognitive disabilities access the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb.
Our team is made up of 110 volunteers and 12 paid staff. All instructors of the program have extensive training and hold a minimum Level 1 certification from CADS (Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing). All of our paid instructors also hold current Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) or Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) certification and advanced levels of CADS.Since the program's inception in 1999, we have had great success in teaching children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy (and various other disabilities) to ski and snowboard. The skills developed within this program have provided lasting benefits and often served as a catalyst to incorporate other physical activities into our Guests' lives.
If you would like more information about the program or becoming an Adaptive pro, our WASP supervisor has an office upstairs in the Springs building (by the lockers).
